San Javier has some of the clearest waters I’ve ever seen.
A vast expanse of emerald and turquoise hues, the ocean is so beautiful that local geniuses even put up railings with steps into the sea every few hundred yards, turning it into one massive natural swimming pool.
Had the weather been kinder to us, I would have instantly stripped off into my swimsuit and dived in. Sadly the water was so cold I was only able to dip my toes in briefly before pulling my shoes back on to keep warm.
We snuggled into a local seaside cafe and ordered a round of afternoon Belmontes, obvs.
And a slab of omelette with a side of octopus.
They were almost as good as yesterday’s.
Although the view definitely made up for it.

Then went home, blasted the aircon on to the temperature of a summer’s day and spent the evening chilling. Tomorrow was supposed to be sunny. We couldn’t wait.
