Personal: 2 Year Wedding Anniversary Dinner

Last night we got dressed up and went out. It was Twosday 2/22/22, and happened to be our 2 year wedding anniversary (though our actual marriage date is 9/1/19 – and yes, both dates were intentional hehe). To be honest, I was feeling a bit lethargic and it was sooo cold outside. We had both just finished up work, and we hadn’t really found a good ‘celebration’ restaurant because the one we originally wanted to go to was closed.

Our back up choice was a restaurant that we discovered last month and have since been a few times for lunch. The food was great, but it didn’t necessarily feel like a special occasion restaurant. We are indeed very blessed that we are able to afford to eat at places like this on a semi-regular basis. Still, after a little bit of back and forth, we decided to go after all.

Immediately I felt glad that we did. It’d been a while since we dressed formally and went out for a nice dinner. I haven’t worn a dress and heels in so long. I even put on make up for the first time in I-don’t-remember-when. Sure, most of my make up is now expired but who cares? The vibe just hit different and I felt all grown up haha.

Kitten Diaries: I Threw Up

Hello, it’s me, Rory. I’m back again in this next instalment of trying to find me my new favourite food. I know you’ve all been waiting for this with bated breath so I’m here to put you out of your misery. You’re welcome.

So where were we? Oh, yes. Well, after mum gave me that delicious tuna dish the first time I thought dad was going to give me some at breakfast the next day. I was so eccitedddd!!

Well, you can imagine my dismay when all I got was my usual Kiwi wet food and some mushy freeze-dried food mum gave me. It was mushy because mum added water, but mainly because it mostly mushy pieces of the new packet of food that came out of the automatic feeder last night along with crumbs of the previous packet.

The new packet mum opened felt softer and the pellets were just falling apart as they hit the bowl. Mum thought the pellets should have held their shape better and crumbled too easily. There were so many crumbs in this packet from the very start and it felt wetter than the previous one. She didn’t want to give it to me but dad said it smelled fine.

I didn’t even finish it. Did they think they could get away with giving me crummy leftovers? How rude! I also didn’t finish my Kiwi food at first, but after running around then resting for a bit I went back and ate it all. But then all of a sudden I didn’t feel so good…

I’m not sure if the food was bad or I just ate too much (shouldn’t have gone for seconds!) but I ended up throwing up in the bathroom. Mum got so worried and was thinking of returning this packet of freeze-dried food if I got sick again. Dad thought I just ate too much and shouldn’t have gone back for seconds because I was still my hyper self but mum thought it might be this packet of freeze-dried food.

I’ve been eating a little less for breakfast anyway lately, and didn’t finish my breakfast the day before either. I’m over 8 months old now so my appetite’s just naturally declining, my poor mum and dad are such n00b pet parents they have no idea. I’m not going to tell them though because I want them to keep giving me lots of food. I looove food. Darn that small stomach of mine!

They still decided to feed me less and monitor me for the rest of the day though. Noooo! My foooood…

Kitten Diaries: Rory’s Hunt for New Wet Food – Part 1

This is the story about a Sleeping Cutie named Aurora and her quest to find a new wet food…

Our rescue kitten, Aurora (Rory for short), is a picky eater while also potentially having a slightly weak digestive system. She’s currently fed a mix of freeze-dried raw food and wet food. When we first got her, she was on kibble/wet and was having a little diarrhoea, so our vet advised we should replace her kibble with freeze dried food, and change the wet food brand we feed her. This post is mostly about her wet food, but if you want to hear more about the freeze dried part click here.

The wet food we’ve been feeding her up until this point was what the adoption lady says she was previously being fed. We were thinking of keeping her on it since she loves that flavour, is used to it, and the other brands the vet recommended were more expensive for the chicken flavours (or the chicken flavours were not for all life stages).

We figured we could just keep her on that until she was an adult before transitioning her to Tiki Cat or Weruva… but things changed a bit too quickly after that.

We originally thought she wouldn’t eat tuna because she rejected the freeze dried ahi tuna treats, but this week I cracked open some cans of tuna for my hubs and I to eat and she went craaazy trying to get me to give her some. I gave her some of the water brine, diluted with a lot more water, and she loved it.

(To be fair, she has liked it in the past as well, and even ate a small piece of tuna I tried to give her back when we first got her, which is why we tried getting her the ahi tuna treats. I guess just with her pickiness about the treats coupled with us not eating tuna for a while we forgot about it and assumed she only liked chicken.)

We originally thought she wouldn’t eat beef because she rejected it at the vet’s, but Pet Food Express were giving out samples of the Vital Essentials Beef Topper, so we figured why not… and she actually enjoyed that too! So maybe her taste buds have changed recently.

Then all of a sudden, the brand we were getting increased their prices by 15%, so that was the final straw. We are now on the hunt for new wet food that she’ll enjoy, that is more affordable and won’t cause her any tummy upsets. I’ll let Rory take the review from here since she’s the one eating it :D

Fitness: Chloe Ting’s 2022 Weight Loss Challenge – Week 4

This post will be updated for days 22 – 28 of this challenge.
Click here for week three’s updates of this challenge.

We are finally in Week 4! I started this challenge on 3rd January and, a month and a half later, I’m finally starting Day 22 haha. I really did take almost a full month’s break from working out, but now that I’m back into it, I’m feeling great.

As with last week, it’s still early days yet with my workout routine, but it’s working for me and that’s the important thing. It’s a routine, and I love that I (kind of) have one. Now if only this routine carried through to being productive the rest of the day heh heh.

I haven’t figured out what I’ll do after this challenge, but there are at least a few challenges I’m interested in trying out. I’m also considering doing a thing where I subscribe to a few fitness YouTubers, and on any given day I’ll just do whatever new workout is uploaded for the day.

That might really backfire on me though because I don’t really want to do intense full body workouts plus intense workouts targeting every body part on the same day sooo we will see. I haven’t really thought it through properly yet, can you tell?

Anyways, I’ll decide that next weekend! With that, let’s get into the final week.
