Fitness: Chloe Ting’s 2022 Weight Loss Challenge – Week 3

This post will be updated for days 15 – 21 of this challenge.
Click here for week two’s updates of this challenge.

I’m very much going at my own pace for this challenge so my dates and days are not always going to align with the schedule. The current plan is to exercise every weekday and form a routine based off it. I’ve noticed increased motivation and improved productivity since I’ve started doing this this week (check out my week two’s updates for full details) so we’ll see how long I can continue with it.

Feel free to check this post for updates during the week! I was considering adding a new post per day because I had previously been updating so infrequently, but since I already have this format in place for the previous two weeks of the challenge I’ll just continue it for now.

It’s Friday but I’m starting Week 3 of the challenge. Let’s just say… it was not the best idea I’ve ever had in my life.

Fitness: Chloe Ting’s 2022 Weight Loss Challenge – Week 2

The start of this week’s workouts comes a little late. I was planning to start it on Weds, but life happened and I got hella busy. However, we’re here now! I’m still excited to continue this challenge. I’m thankful that it’s helping me get active again.

Also, having an active kitten is helping me get little bursts of exercise throughout the day as well. We originally thought we wouldn’t need to play with her much – almost all sources online say 2 sessions per day of 10-15mins each – but our kitten will go for an hour each time. I will probably play with her for about 30mins each time before I’m pooped or just don’t have time to continue.

She’s worth it though. We’re now harness training her, and she went outside the front door (albeit briefly) for the first time ever today! I’m looking forward to the day we’ll be able to walk her to help her burn off some energy so I don’t have to be running around the house.

Anyway, all that is to say, I’ve been doing a little bit of exercise every day because of her, and thanks to Chloe I’m getting some good workouts in as well. I wonder how long it’ll take me to finish up this challenge haha. Right now I’m progressing at half the speed, so I anticipate I’ll be done with it in Feb.

Already I have noticed some changes in my body despite my super poor diet so that’s quite exciting. I sort of wish I took a before photo, but since we already established that that’s not what doing this challenge is about for me, I don’t wish to perpetuate the goal of doing it for looks.

Fitness: Chloe Ting’s 2022 Weight Loss Challenge – Week 1

It’s a new year! New Chloe Ting website, new challenge, I’m excited. I have been meaning to blog a lot over the past few months, but unfortunately work and life got incredibly busy. I’ve also started streaming lately, which has been taking hours of my free time.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas with Jacky’s relatives. Our house is finally feeling like a home with the majority of furniture items purchased. We hosted dinner for 10 for the first time, as well as hosting multiple groups of friends overnight. It’s been a blessed time of friends and good food.

And little to no exercise. Lol.

Needless to say, working out again has been very much necessary, and this new logged in experience feels like exactly what I needed to get myself back on track. My screenshot above is from a guest user’s experience, but once you log in, you’ll be able to see your daily workout and mark it as complete in your own account, after which you are greeted with the cutest Chloe cheering animation:

I dunno, I kinda love it. There are a lot more features to come but I’m just glad to be getting back on track. There’s supposed to be a Fitness Journal feature launching soon, but even after it launches I still kind of like the idea of writing about my progress here, so let’s see how I get on. If it gets too much, then I’ll stop blogging and just log there.

It’s honestly been so long. Let’s see if I still remember how to do this haha.

Fitness: Re-doing Chloe Ting’s 2020 Summer Shred

What can I say? A year later, I’m back to this tried and true gem. It was one of my favourite challenges back in the day, and while I am fully aware I have not finished her 2021 Get Fit Challenge, at this point I’m probably just going to say I’ve completed it to the best of my ability and call it a day. I wasn’t able to finish the final 3 days of workouts last week and I’d quite like to shed some fat rather than build more muscle now, so this is going to be it for me.

I know there’s a new 2021 Summer Shred Challenge but I really don’t think I’ll be able to handle it at my current fitness level. I’ve heard the new 2021 Weight Loss Challenge is pretty good and slightly more suited to lower levels of fitness and it’s only 21 days long, 30mins of workouts per day, but unfortunately I’m just not a fan of the music right now.

I love the music for the 2020 Summer Shred, it just gets me so pumped to workout and keep going, and I’m familiar with this challenge (somewhat), so I’ll go for this one for now. Plus it’s just nice to revisit old gems like the 2019 2 Week Shred Ab Workout video that still haunts my nightmares.

Finally, now that we have our own place and I can jump to my heart’s content, I can finally do the full challenge rather than constantly replacing videos and doing low impact to avoid jumping. I’ll also try to do the optional videos if possible, which is something I did not have the energy for last time around.

This is exciting! I wonder how I’ll get on… probably not very well, let’s be honest :p

Bullet Journal: August Setup

This is the first month I decided to do a clean title page + calendar. I also thought the verse would take up a lot more space than it did, so after it barely took up half of the page I decided to add a monthly to-buy and to-do list at the bottom.

I really like the clean aesthetic and am incredibly pleased with how the colours worked together. Those were not planned, I kinda wanted to go with grey to match the colour of my walls haha and somehow the mint just popped perfectly. I really like this look; no wonder bullet journalists use it so much…

The centred calendar + ‘august’ with all that negative space gives it so much breathing space. I feel at peace when I look at it and it brings me so much joy. I think I’d definitely like to continue doing a page like this for the following months too, and next time I’ll better plan out the spacing with the verse.

I’ve gone back to the rolling weekly task list for now. I realised I wasn’t really using the daily boxes apart from a few select days like returning-keys day or IKEA-trip day, and the rest of the time I had felt a little paralysed or too exhausted to do anything beyond surviving my day-to-day tasks.
